Banca March advances the payment of unemployment benefits to 4 June

  • The measure is intended to support those who have been hit hardest by the consequences of Covid-19.
  • The bank has also reminded customers of the importance of using ATMs and remote banking services for everyday transactions.

Banca March has paid unemployment benefits early for the third month running. The bank will deposit unemployment benefit payments into customers' accounts on 4 June.

The measure is designed to support one of the groups that has suffered the most from the current situation. Since the beginning of the crisis, Banca March has also been allowing customers who have their state pension paid into their account to withdraw it earlier than usual.

The bank has reminded customers of the importance of using ATMs for cash withdrawals and its remote banking services (online banking and the app) for everyday transactions.

Since 16 March, cash withdrawals of over 150 euros have been free of charge to all Banca March cardholders at any ATM in Spain and worldwide.

Last month Banca March also announced the launch of a new corporate website, www.bancamarch.es, in response to the growing demand for quality information about the impact of the coronavirus crisis on the economy and the markets, as well as for wealth management advice.

Our main concern during the health crisis created by the coronavirus has been to take the necessary measures to preserve the health of our professionals, both in Spain and Luxembourg, as well as that of our customers, maintaining and ensuring business continuity.

Distance working measures have been implemented across all areas, both in central services and in the commercial network, so that almost all professionals have the necessary means to work from home. We have strengthened our digital tools and doubled our efforts to remain very close to our customers, strengthening communication with them and offering full accessibility to our managers and market experts.

One of the key priorities of Banca March is to protect the assets of its customers. That is why our model, which seeks to achieve long-term results, is based on offering prudent advice, from the most conservative to the most determined portfolios, while serving as a buffer against levels of volatility that have not been seen since 1929.

But the best protection system in times of turbulence is the soundness and proven strength of Banca March's business model, as reflected by its financial ratios, which place it among the most solvent banks in Europe, with a solid and historical base of own resources and equity, the lowest default rate in Spain and the highest levels of liquidity in the sector. These robust foundations enable us to bring determination and commitment to the uncertainty surrounding the current health crisis. We are very aware of how necessary it is to maintain close contact with our customers at this challenging time, and that is where our efforts are focused, fulfilling our promise of joint growth.
