The volume of March Vida premiums increased by 27% in 2019 to €554.1 million

  • The volume of March Vida premiums sold by Banca March in 2019 was over €500 million for the first time, at €554.1 million.
  • Guaranteed savings products amounted to a notable €219.7 million, while the volume of unit linked premiums was €209.6 million.

The volume of March Vida premiums sold by Banca March in 2019 was €554.1 million, an increase of 27% on the previous year. It puts the company in 12th place in the ranking of life insurance companies in Spain. Sales of guaranteed savings products were particularly high, at €219.7 million, as were those of unit linked products, with a volume of premiums of €209.6 million. Also strong was distribution of annuities, at €60.3 million, and PPA, PIAS and SIALP pension products, with a total volume of €58.2 million.

At the close of 2019, the March Vida portfolio amounted to over 85,000 policies, with mathematical provisions of €1,521.2 million.

March Vida is continuing to establish its position as a supplier of long-term savings products in Banca March, particularly for customers with a conservative profile.

The company's strength is reflected in the launch in 2019 of innovative products such as the PIAS Next Generation Unit Linked and March Vida MultiETF Unit Linked, designed for the Private Banking and HNW Banking segments of Banca March. 

PIAS Next Generation Unit Linked is a Systematic Individual Saving Plan (PIAS) in the unit linked format. It allows savers to invest in three megatrends that the Banca March Products area has identified as a potential source of profitability over the coming years: the 4.0 Revolution; Sustainability and the Environment; and Demographics and Lifestyle. This insurance product invests the contributions made by customers in the same Next Generation fund portfolio. Banca March's aim is to allow its customers participate in the investment opportunities that not only generate returns, but also contribute to the future. As it is a proposal geared to saving for retirement, there are major tax advantages for products of this type. This PIAS has an entry premium of €1,000 and provides access to a unique product in the market.

March Vida MultiEFT Unit Linked is a life/savings insurance that provides efficient investment in a broad selection of exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Through it, the bank makes available to customers and non-customers a product that is highly appropriate for diversification and extremely tax effective, as the transfers of ETFs included in the unit linked product are exempt from tax until the product is redeemed.
