Banca March is once again paying its customers' pensions in advance, from 24 April

  • The bank's customers receiving their pension payments have a longer period to visit the branch. 
  • This measure will minimise the formation of queues and ensure all public health measures are adopted to fight against COVID-19.
  • Banca March's branches are contacting older clients to advise them on the use of remote banking and cards.

Banca March has decided to pay its customers' pension benefits from 24 April, making an advance payment of their Social Security pension benefits to their accounts.

This is a measure in support of older groups. It aims to minimise the formation of queues in branches and limit the risks of contagion by taking all public health measures announced by the authorities.

Banca March branches are contacting customers in this group to advise them, if needed, on the use of remote banking and cards.

Since 16 March, all Banca March cardholders can withdraw cash from any national and international cashier for free, with a cash withdrawal limit of 150 euros.

After almost a century in operation, Banca March has one of the highest capital equity ratios in Europe. Over these 94 years, the bank has been a privileged spectator of the most important events in the world since 1926 and, in turn, has gained solid experience to face complex scenarios, such as the current crisis.


Our main concern during the health crisis created by the coronavirus has been to take the necessary measures to preserve the health of our professionals, both in Spain and Luxembourg, as well as that of our customers, maintaining and ensuring business continuity.

The teleworking measures have been implemented across all areas, both in central services and in the branch network, so that almost all professionals have the necessary means to work from home. We have strengthened our digital tools and doubled our efforts to remain very close to our customers, strengthening communication with them and offering full accessibility to our managers and market experts.

One of the key priorities of Banca March is to protect the assets of its customers. That is why our model, which seeks to achieve long-term results, materialises in prudent advice, from the most conservative to the most determined portfolios, while serving as a buffer against levels of volatility that have not been achieved since 1929.

But the best protection system in times of turbulence is the entity's solidity and the proven strength of Banca March's business model, as reflected by its financial ratios, which place it among the most solvent banks in Europe, with a solid and historical base of own resources and equity, the lowest default rate in Spain and the highest levels of liquidity in the sector. On these robust foundations, we face a period of uncertainty with determination and commitment, which will unfold as the health crisis progresses. We are very aware of how necessary it is to be close and in contact with our customers at such a time, and that is where we are focusing our efforts, fulfilling our promise: joint growth.
