Banca March coordinates MARF commercial paper issuance for Galician agri-food cooperative COREN

  • COREN will be able to undertake short-term issuances under the conditions stipulated in this programme for the next 12 months.
  • The transaction has allowed Banca March to cement its leadership position as a coordinator of fixed income issuances.
  • This programme evidences the growing interest in the capital markets as a source of alternative financing.

Banca March has registered a short-term fixed income programme for the Galician agri-food cooperative Cooperativas Ourensanas, Sociedad Cooperativa Galega (COREN) for a maximum amount of 50 million euros, which was approved today by Spain's Alternative Fixed Income Market (MARF). Banca March is acting as registered advisor, as well as bookrunner and agent bank on the transaction.

Securities issued through this programme may be denominated in euros and have different maturity dates. COREN will therefore be able to harness this financing opportunity as an alternative to traditional bank funding.

 Alternative funding for businesses

One of Banca March's core strategic lines in the Corporate area is to advise its clients on identifying alternative sources of funding, such as commercial paper and bond issuances on the MARF and the Irish Stock Exchange. To this end, the bank launched its Capital Markets business unit in early 2013.

Banca March is one of the most active financial institutions in the market in short-term issuances for both unrated Spanish companies and those with investment grade or high yield ratings. It has worked on the following programmes:
