Mr. Juan March de la Lastra
Executive President of Banca March

Juan March de la Lastra was named Executive President of Banca March S.A. in July 2015. The bank’s Board of Directors appointed him to replace Carlos March Delgado, who some months before had announced his decision to leave the post he had occupied since 1974.

Juan March de la Lastra’s career, which began in 1995, has always been linked to the financial sector. After completing studies in Business Administration and Management at Madrid’s Universidad Carlos III, he joined the Capital Markets Department of J.P. Morgan, fulfilling various duties in London and Madrid.

He joined Banca March in 2000. Before being named Executive President of the bank, Juan March de la Lastra held various roles: Managing Director and President of March Gestión de Fondos and March Gestión de Pensiones, Director of Artá Capital, and Executive Vice President of Banca March between 2009 and 2015.

He is also Vice President of Corporación Financiera Alba, in which Banca March holds a 15% stake, a Director of Viscofán and a Patron of the Fundación Juan March.

Between 2014 and 2016 he completed the “Owner and President Management Program (OPM)” executive programme at the Harvard Business School.

Juan March de la Lastra believes the focus of all Banca March activities must lie on the client. For this reason, he defines the essence of Banca March as joint growth, “which implies commitment, exigency, effort, integrity and ambition, all of them requirements needed to offer a distinctive, unique and high-quality added value”. The excellence in daily business sought by Banca March professionals is another one of the pillars required to achieve the objective of serving “individuals and businesses, a clear reference as a provider of financial advice and services”.
