Accessibility statement for Banca March's online banking

At Banca March, we are committed to providing an inclusive digital experience for all our customers. For this reason, we have initiated a process of continuous review and improvement of the accessibility of all our digital platforms, with the goal of aligning them with the criteria of the international WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standard.

Our goal is to ensure that everyone can access our digital services autonomously and safely, in compliance with the requirements established by Law 11/2023 on the accessibility of products and services.

Regulatory framework

Law 11/2023, of 8th May, which transposes the Directive (EU) 2019/882 relating to the accessibility requirements for certain products and services, establishes that digital platforms from entities that provide banking services to consumers must have been made accessible by 28th June 2025.

Accessible content

Currently, Banca March's online banking is partially aligned with WCAG 2.1 level AA.

The criteria of this standard that are currently met are detailed below:

  • Criterion 1.2.2: Subtitles are provided for videos with audio.
  • Criterion 1.3.2: When the sequence in which content is presented affects its meaning, software is able to determine the correct reading sequence.
  • Criterion 1.4.4: Text can be enlarged up to 200% without losing content or functionality.
  • Criterion 1.4.12: It is possible to modify the spacing of the text to improve readability.
  • Criterion 2.4.5: There is more than one way to locate a web page.
  • Criterion 2.5.2: There is a way for initiated actions to be cancelled with a single pointer.
  • Criterion 2.5.3: The programmatic name contains the text that is displayed visually.
  • Criterion 3.2.1: When an interactive element is focused on, it does not initiate any functionality.
  • Criterion 3.2.3: Navigation mechanisms that are repeated on multiple web pages within a set of web pages always appear in the same relative order.

Inaccessible content

At Banca March, we are working to progressively improve the accessibility of our online banking, both on the website and the mobile app, with the goal of achieving WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.

Below are the criteria that are currently not met and are under review and correction:

  • Criterion 1.1.1: Some images are missing alt text.
  • Criterion 1.3.1: On some pages, the relationship between elements cannot be determined by assistive technologies.
  • Criterion 1.3.4: When in horizontal orientation, some elements go off-plane, preventing the user from interacting with them.
  • Criterion 1.3.5: The forms are missing labels that indicate what type of input should be entered.
  • Criterion 1.4.1: Incorrect fields are highlighted in red on forms, with no alternative colour alert provided.
  • Criterion 1.4.3: Some texts do not meet the minimum required contrast of 4.5:1.
  • Criterion 1.4.5: There are images with text on some pages.
  • Criterion 1.4.10: In some cases, two-dimensional scrolling is required to access the content.
  • Criterion 1.4.11: Some icons and images do not meet the minimum contrast of 3:1.
  • Criterion 1.4.13: The content revealed on mouse hover cannot be closed in some cases.
  • Criterion 2.1.1: There are interactive elements that cannot be operated using the keyboard.
  • Criterion 2.1.2: Keyboard focus gets stuck on certain elements.
  • Criterion 2.1.4: No mechanisms are provided to enable or disable keyboard shortcuts.
  • Criterion 2.2.2: There are animations that cannot be controlled or stopped.
  • Criterion 2.4.1: There is no mechanism to directly access the main content.
  • Criterion 2.4.2: There are pages without titles or with non-descriptive titles.
  • Criterion 2.4.3: The focus order does not follow a logical sequence on some pages.
  • Criterion 2.4.4: Some links do not have a label that identifies their purpose.
  • Criterion 2.4.6: Some pages are missing headings and tags that would properly structure the content.
  • Criterion 2.4.7: When focusing on some elements, the focus becomes invisible.
  • Criterion 3.1.1: The language is not correctly specified on all pages.
  • Criterion 3.1.2: On pages with multiple languages, assistive technologies are not able to determine the language of each section.
  • Criterion 3.2.2: When you enter text in the search bar, results appear without any confirmation.
  • Criterion 3.2.4: There are analogous information components that are expressed with different texts.
  • Criterion 3.3.1: No textual messages are provided on the forms to indicate errors occurring.
  • Criterion 3.3.2: In the forms, there are no instructions to help users identify the data they need to enter.
  • Criterion 3.3.3: No suggestions are provided for correcting errors in data entry on forms.
  • Criterion 3.3.4: The user is not given the option to review and correct their data before submitting it.
  • Criterion 4.1.2: Some elements do not have well-defined fields such as name or status.
  • Criterion 4.1.3: There are status messages that are not detected by assistive technologies if they are not focused on.

This statement was prepared on 24th June 2025 and is based on a self-assessment.
