Statement on the accessibility of Banca March offices

Banca March integrates universal accessibility as a fundamental principle within its customer service and experience model. The bank understands that ensuring equal access to its products, services, and physical spaces is not only a legal obligation, but also an essential part of promoting social inclusion, fair treatment, and quality service to all its customers.

In this regard, Banca March is committed to continuously reviewing and improving accessibility conditions in its network of branches and is working to ensure that everyone—including those with disabilities or specific support needs—can access, navigate, and receive care in its facilities independently, safely, and with dignity.

Regulatory framework

This statement is formulated in the context of the regulatory strengthening established regarding accessibility at the national and European levels. In particular, the following provisions are taken into account:

  • Law 11/2023, of 8th May, which transposes the Directive (EU) 2019/882 relating to the accessibility requirements for certain products and services, and establishes the obligation to ensure that the physical environments linked to the provision of financial services are accessible.
  • Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013, which approves the Consolidated Text of the General Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and their Social Inclusion, which establishes the principle of universal accessibility and sets specific obligations for economic operators regarding the design and adaptation of environments.
  • The Technical Building Code, and in particular basic requirement SUA 9: Safety of use and accessibility, which establishes the conditions that public buildings must meet to ensure non-discriminatory, independent, and safe use by all persons, including those with disabilities.

This framework establishes both technical criteria and general principles that Banca March considers as a reference in order to guide its actions regarding accessibility in its branches.

Current situation and action plan

Currently, some of Banca March's branches meet the technical and regulatory requirements defined in the aforementioned documents. These branches allow for widespread use by people with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities, without significant barriers to their use.

However, the range of branch spaces is varied, and there are locations that, due to age or specific construction characteristics, require additional interventions to fully adapt to universal accessibility criteria.

Given this situation, Banca March has implemented a structured plan for review, diagnosis and progressive adaptation of its entire network of branches, which includes the following phases:

  1. Technical diagnosis of the current state of accessibility at each branch, considering both physical and cognitive and sensory aspects.
  2. Identification of barriers or elements that may limit access, movement or autonomous use of the facilities that can be improved.
  3. Prioritisation of action, taking into account the urgency, the relevance of the use of each branch, its volume of users and the technical feasibility of the necessary actions.
  4. Definition and execution of corrective measures, which will improve accessibility in branches that currently do not meet all applicable criteria.
  5. Periodic monitoring and review, to ensure that the implemented adaptations remain in optimal condition and adapt to any evolution of the regulatory or technical framework.

This plan is being developed with a rigorous technical approach and under the criteria of proportionality and effectiveness, so that all Banca March branches can achieve a uniform and adequate standard of accessibility.

Institutional commitment

Banca March reaffirms its commitment to developing a fully accessible network of branches as part of a comprehensive approach to accessibility that combines physical environments, digital services, financial products, and staff training.

The organisation understands that accessibility is not limited to regulatory compliance, it constitutes an essential dimension in terms of the quality of its service and its relationship with people. Therefore, it will continue to allocate technical, human, and financial resources to ensure increasingly inclusive, safe, and user-friendly environments for all customers, with special attention to people with disabilities or greater barriers to access.

Likewise, Banca March is committed to periodically reviewing its accessibility criteria and maintaining a proactive attitude of continuous improvement, aligned with the best practices in the sector and with the principles of equity, respect, and social responsibility that guide its activities.
