Banca March Banca March is expanding its co-investment offering with the launch of Claret European Growth Capital Fund IV, ELTIF, aimed at financing companies in fast-growing technology sectors, primarily in Europe. This new proposal has been channelled through an ELTIF, exclusive to Banca March, which will invest in parallel with Claret Capital Partners’ institutional vehicle, Claret European Growth Capital Fund IV. This is Banca March’s second collaboration with Claret Capital Partners, following the excellent experience of the March Technology Growth fund, marketed in the first four months of 2023 with the same objective of investing in growth financing for European technology companies. Claret Capital Partners is a leading European manager in technology debt and growth financing, with more than 180 transactions completed and a historical loss rate of below 3.5%.

The strategy of Banca March’s new co-investment fund is to finance between 100 and 120 companies to continue driving their growth through senior amortising debt instruments. The investment horizon is 36 to 48 months per company, with a total estimated term of eight years.

Banca March has committed €70 million to co-invest in Claret European Growth Capital Fund IV, ELTIF. The current volume of Claret Capital Partners’ institutional fund stands at €320 million, with a final goal of reaching €500 million by 31 December 2025.

Co-investment, a hallmark of Banca March

This new initiative adds to Banca March’s co-investment offerings, which form a unique and unrivalled model in the market, allowing clients to invest in the same products as the bank, fostering lasting relationships that are consistent with its clients’ interests. Co-investment is a hallmark of Banca March, and the institution is a pioneer in its commitment to alternative assets, with over 20 years of experience providing investment strategies shared with its clients.

In the case of illiquid co-investment, Banca March covers a variety of illiquid asset types (venture capital, private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure) carefully selected by the bank to offer an investment alternative in growth sectors. This serves as an excellent complement that avoids volatility and economic uncertainty. In this way, Banca March provides its clients with the opportunity to invest in strategies that would otherwise only be accessible to large investors.

Since 2008, Grupo Banca March has committed over 3.9 billion euros in illiquid assets together with its clients, achieving a twofold return multiple on projects in the real economy. During this period, more than 3,900 co-investors have participated alongside the bank in various investments.
