  • Banca March's new co-investment product, designed exclusively for its clients, will allow them to invest together with the bank in the financing of between 35 and 40 European middle-market companies, with a special focus on defensive and resilient sectors, in partnership with the international asset manager Clearlake Credit Europe.
  • The bank and its customers will co-invest up to €75 million in Clearlake Sub VI ELTIF, a vehicle of the Clearlake Credit Europe Subordinated Debt VI fund, which will invest in subordinated financing instruments in companies backed by private equity firms with the highest reputation at the European level.
  • This new initiative adds to Banca March's co-investment offering, a unique model in the market, according to which the entity and more than 4,100 co-investors have committed more than €4.2 billion in alternative investments since 2008.

Banca March expands its co-investment offering with the launch of Clearlake Sub VI ELTIF, a long-term investment vehicle designed to finance European middle-market companies through subordinated financing instruments. Developed exclusively for the bank’s clients, the vehicle will provide access to the Clearlake Credit Europe Subordinated Debt VI fund's investment strategy. Banca March, true to its philosophy of Joint Growth, will invest up to €75 million with the bank’s clients in the new ELTIF.

The strategy envisages financing between 35 and 40 companies, mainly in Western Europe, with an EBITDA of between €20 and €100 million and backed by top-tier private equity firms. The fund will focus on companies with established business models, strong cash-flow generation, and operating in defensive and resilient sectors, especially in the technology and healthcare sectors.

The financing will be used to support expansion processes, acquisitions, refinancing, and shareholder reorganisations through transactions with an estimated average duration of between three and four years. The investment already covers nine European companies and the portfolio is expected to be completed before the end of 2029, with a target horizon for the settlement of the investment at the end of 2034.

Clearlake Sub VI is the eighth corporate financing fund managed by Clearlake Credit Europe and has, including Banca March's contribution, approximately €250 million committed. The final closing of the fund is planned for the end of 2026.

Co-investment, a hallmark of Banca March

This new initiative adds to Banca March’s co-investment offerings, which form a unique and unrivalled model in the market, allowing clients to invest in the same products as the bank, fostering lasting relationships that are consistent with their interests. Co-investment is a hallmark of Banca March, and the institution is a pioneer in its commitment to alternative assets, with over 20 years of experience providing investment strategies shared with its clients.

In the case of illiquid co-investment, Banca March covers a variety of alternative asset types (venture capital, private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure) carefully selected by the bank to offer investment alternatives in growth sectors. This serves as an excellent complement that avoids volatility and economic uncertainty. In this way, Banca March provides its clients with the opportunity to invest in strategies that would otherwise only be accessible to large institutional investors.

Since 2008, Grupo Banca March has committed over €4.2 billion in alternative assets together with its clients, achieving a twofold return multiple on projects in the real economy. During this period, more than 4,100 co-investors participated alongside the bank in various investments.
