Banca March appoints Beatriz Puente Ferreras as new independent director

Banca March has appointed Beatriz Puente Ferreras as a new independent director of the entity. She will join both the Audit Committee and the Global Risk and Technological Change Committee. Beatriz Puente Ferreras succeeds María Antonia Otero Quintas, who leaves her position following the end of her term. The Banca March Board has expressed its gratitude for María Antonia Otero Quintas’s dedication and commitment since joining in 2019, highlighting her extensive experience and expertise as Chair of the Global Risk and Technological Change Committee and member of the Audit Committee.

Thus, in accordance with the strictest international Corporate Governance standards, the number of directors at Banca March remains at 13 (3 executive, 5 independent, and 5 shareholder directors). The new independent director is the fifth woman on Banca March’s governing body, alongside Agatha Echevarría Canales and Eva Fernández Góngora, both independent directors, Catalina March Juan, a nominee director, and the bank’s Executive Vice President, Rita Rodríguez Arrojo.

Beatriz Puente Ferreras currently serves as an independent director at Valeo and Metrovacesa, where she is a member of the Audit Committee. Previously, she served on the boards of NH Hotel Group and Luton Airport.

The new director at Banca March brings a solid track record in financial management, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from CUNEF and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, which she completed on a Fulbright scholarship. Over the past 20 years, she has held senior positions as a Chief Financial Officer. Until May 2023, she served as CFO at Siemens Gamesa, and previously held the same role at NH Hotel Group and AENA, where she led the company’s privatisation and stock market flotation, as well as its debt restructuring. Her investment banking experience was gained at Citigroup Global Markets (New York, London, and Madrid), where she worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions division. She has also enhanced her career with responsibilities at Vocento and Ernst & Young.
