The property, a distinctive 1965 structure with a façade by ceramist Carles Madirolas, spans 6,186 m² and will house the bank’s various business areas, becoming a key reference centre in Barcelona. The acquisition is part of Banca March’s strategy of establishing business centres in premium locations that reflect its unique private banking and corporate advisory business model. Banca March has acquired the building at 431 bis Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona, right in the heart of the city’s commercial district, to host its new business centre. With this operation, the bank reaffirms its commitment to Catalonia, a strategic market for the Group, and advances its goal of consolidating itself as the leading entity in Spain for private banking and corporate advisory. Banca March’s team in Catalonia is led by specialists in the bank’s business areas: Gregorio Moreno, Territorial Director of Wealth Banking Catalonia-Aragon; Alfredo Puerto, Territorial Director of Large Corporates Catalonia-Aragon; and Marc Draper, Catalonia-Levante Area Director of Commercial and Private Banking. The building, constructed in 1965 by architect Raúl de Miguel Rivero, is a singular piece of the city’s architecture due to its striking black glass façade. It consists of 42 enamelled panels by the renowned painter, engraver, and ceramist Carles Madirolas Casart (1934–2007), winner of the National Prize in 1951. The artworks depict the creation of the world and the three forms of life: plant, animal, and human. This acquisition reflects Banca March’s philosophy of investing in business centres in premium locations, offering modern and representative spaces to develop its business model. The bank aims to enhance the experience of clients and professionals by providing spaces that foster trust and deliver the personalised service and exclusivity that characterise Banca March. The new property has a total area of 6,186 m², spread over 11 above-ground floors and 3 basements housing 18 parking spaces and technical areas. The building was acquired from the Alting Real Estate Group, with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) providing advisory services for the transaction.
