Banca March acquires a 5% stake in Exolum in a new co-investment project with its clients 20 January 2026 Category: Grupo Banca March With this initiative, Banca March once again offers its clients the opportunity to invest in a leading company in the transport, management and storage of energy products in Spain, with a strong international expansion strategy. Banca March will acquire a 5% stake in Exolum, a company specialising in energy infrastructure and high value-added logistics services with a firm international growth strategy. Through this transaction, Banca March will allow its clients to access an investment in a key player in the energy sector, characterised by a business model with high barriers to entry and growing international leadership. Exolum, a key player in energy logistics Founded in 1927, Exolum is today a benchmark company in the transport, management and storage of liquid bulk products and other goods essential for mobility and industry, including biofuels and chemical products. The company operates across a total of 10 regions, playing a particularly significant role in aviation supply in the United Kingdom, both civil and military. In Spain, Exolum manages one of the largest and most efficient logistics networks in the world, with advanced infrastructure supporting energy supply (4,000 km, 39 facilities and 8 million m3 of storage capacity). Exolum is also engaged in a dynamic internationalisation strategy that has positioned it as a leading provider of liquid product logistics, with strategic assets in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands. In these regions, its terminals are used to store products such as biofuels and chemical products destined for industrial processes. Co-investment, a unique Banca March proposition For more than 20 years, co-investment has been one of Banca March’s most distinguishing pillars. The bank has been a pioneer and leader in investing in alternative assets through strategies shared with clients, allowing them to invest in the same products as the bank. Co-investment represents a direct alignment of interests between the bank and the client and enables the building of long-term relationships based on trust. This investment proposition for clients constitutes a unique model in the Spanish market, the result of a philosophy that seeks to share all of the bank’s knowledge and expertise with its clients with the aim of achieving joint growth. In the field of non-liquid co-investment, the Institution selects illiquid assets —venture capital, private equity, private debt, real estate or infrastructure — with the aim of offering alternatives outside the volatility of listed markets and capturing growth opportunities. In this way, Banca March provides its clients with the opportunity to invest in strategies that would otherwise only be accessible to large investors. Since 2008, the Group has committed more than €4 billion to illiquid assets alongside more than 3,900 co-investors, of whom one in three has reinvested, with projects that on average have returned more than twice the capital invested.
