Banca March is the top Spanish company and the only Spanish bank to be ranked among the best places to work in Europe

16 October 2024 Category: Banca March

  • This milestone comes after Banca March was ranked as the second best company to work for in Spain last April.
  • These recognitions are endorsed by Great Place to Work®, the world's largest consultancy firm specialising in auditing human resources policy.
  • The final score given by the consultancy firm is largely determined by the opinions of the professionals themselves.
  • According to the survey by Great Place to Work®, 9 out of 10 Banca March professionals say they feel proud to work for the bank.
  • Banca March has been endorsed as one of the best places to work in Spain, with an investment in training of over €1,000 per employee, which is 2.5 times the sector average .

Banca March is positioned as the top Spanish company and, for the fourth year running, the only Spanish bank to feature among the best places to work in Europe, according to the ranking by Great Place to Work®, the world's largest consultancy firm specialising in auditing human resources policy. Banca March, which boasts the strongest capital equity ratio in Spain, was included in the ranking in the large companies category (more than 500 employees).

Banca March's inclusion as the only Spanish bank and one of just three Spanish companies in the European ranking comes after Great Place to Work® ranked it as the second best place to work in Spain back in April.

What makes this recognition particularly valuable is that it is based largely on the opinions of the audited organisations' own employees. The end score is determined largely by the opinions of the professionals themselves, with a smaller percentage of the score defined by the outcome of the audit carried out by the independent consultant.

According to the anonymous surveys conducted by Great Place to Work®, 9 out of 10 Banca March employees are proud to work for the bank.

Another key area in which the bank outperformed again this year is the excellent workplace culture; 90% of professionals said they felt motivated to achieve the bank's goals, 92% said they felt welcomed when they joined the bank, and 90% gave a very positive score for their management by superiors, who they regard as honest and ethical. Finally, 9 out of 10 employees say Banca March is a friendly place to work.

This recognition highlights Banca March's unique business model, based on leadership in solvency, responsible advice, a solid reputation, service quality, advisory technology and people management, with the best-trained professionals in the sector.

Anselmo Martín-Peñasco, Deputy Managing Director of Banca March and Head of the Human Resources area, said: “We are proud and delighted to have featuring in the Great Place To Work® European ranking for the fourth year running as the top-ranked Spanish company and the only Spanish bank. The recognitions we have achieved in people management over the last few years are of huge value, because they are the consequence of the opinions of the bank's own professionals, who are almost unanimous in saying they feel proud to work for Banca March. This gives us even more determination to keep placing people at the heart of our business model. We have successfully positioned ourselves as the best training school for private banking  and corporate advisory managers, with a talent management model based on specialisation and training and an investment over the last year of more than €1,000 per employee, which is 2.5 times the sector average."

The Great Place To Work® ranking is based on the confidential responses of more than 1 million employees in Europe regarding their workplace experience. To be considered, companies must first be identified as outstanding in their region, appearing on one or more of the Best Workplaces™ lists in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Turkey or the United Kingdom in 2023 or early 2024.

Banca March's inclusion in the European ranking for the fourth year running comes in addition to the milestones achieved earlier this year, when the bank was ranked as the second best company to work for in Spain according to the Best Workplaces ranking and secured both Great Place to Work® and Top Employers certification. Specifically, the bank was certified as a Great Place to Work for the fifth year running, thanks to its excellent workplace culture and the team's sense of pride in belonging, as well as its strong people management practices and policies. Banca March also secured Top Employer certification – awarded by the independent consultancy firm Top Employers Institute – for the sixth year running. Banca March has also made it onto the podium for three consecutive years in Actualidad Económica's "100 best companies to work for in Spain" ranking.
