Banca March has been recognised as a Silver Communicator Partner of the UN Global Compact in Spain thanks to its efforts in raising awareness and communicating the principles which define and drive this UN initiative.

This recognition was awarded at the Global Compact's 2022 General Assembly, which was held at the Madrid Stock Exchange Palace building, and was collected by Sonia Colino, Director of People, Brand and Sustainability at Banca March. “At Banca March, sustainability and people's wellbeing are the two key driving forces behind our business activity, both in terms of the internal operations of all Group companies and in the investment and financing proposals we offer our customers. Our commitment to Shared Growth, the cornerstone of our century-old philosophy, means our management approach must contribute to an inclusive, sustainable economic model whilst remaining profitable for our stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders and society as a whole. It is a huge honour for us to have been awarded this recognition,” said Sonia Colino.

In 2021, Grupo Banca March completed its adhesion to the Global Compact, with all Group subsidiaries joining the Compact as signatories. Banca March was the first to join back in 2002 and has renewed its own commitment several times since then, followed by March Asset Management, the Group's boutique asset manager – which has also been a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) since April 2021 –, March Risk Solutions, the largest Spanish-owned insurance broker, private equity investment manager March Private Equity, life insurance provider March Vida and Inversis, a leading Spanish provider of end-to-end technology solutions and outsourced investment services for institutional clients.

This commitment has underscored the Group's firm objective of positioning sustainability as the driving force behind its business activity, delivering products and services for its customers which are more responsible over the long term, promote sustainable investment and financing, and effectively integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk factors.

The United Nations Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. Signatories commit to integrating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact – related to human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption – into their strategies and operations with a view to contributing to social progress and implementing the SDGs.
