Banca March and AMEFMUR renew their alliance to promote the growth of family businesses in Murcia

04 February 2026 Category: Agreements

  • In the year of its centenary, Banca March reaffirms its commitment to the region’s business community, a key market in its strategic growth plans.
  • The agreement includes training and advisory initiatives for AMEFMUR members, leveraging Banca March’s specialiaation in entrepreneurial families and wealth management.
  • The signing consolidates Banca March’s goal of becoming the preferred bank for family businesses and entrepreneurial families in Spain.

Banca March and the Asociación Murciana de la Empresa Familiar (AMEFMUR) have renewed their collaboration agreement, which aims to promote the development of family businesses in the Region of Murcia — which account for more than 92% of its productive fabric — and to strengthen synergies between the financial and business sectors.

The renewal was signed by Felipe Rastrollo, head of the Corporate Banking unit at Banca March, and the president of AMEFMUR, José María Tortosa.

Under this agreement, Banca March professionals will continue to deliver training initiatives and information sessions for members of the association, focused on expanding key knowledge for business management, succession planning and wealth strategy. Banca March’s commitment to the region materialised at the end of 2024 with the inauguration of its business centre in the city. The excellent reception of this model is reflected in the fact that business volume in the region recorded growth of more than 65% in 2025, a figure that highlights the dynamism of the Murcian economy.

Felipe Rastrollo, head of the Corporate Banking unit at Banca March, noted: “Renewing our alliance with AMEFMUR, especially in the year in which we celebrate our centenary, is a clear statement of intent and confirmation of a long-term commitment. As Spain's only 100% family-owned bank, we have a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by entrepreneurial families, because we share a long-term vision and a vocation for joint growth. Our commitment to Murcia is firm, as evidenced by the inauguration at the end of 2024 of our business centre in the city. With this renewal, we aspire to continue being the leading financial partner for family businesses, a driving force of the regional economy”.

For his part, José María Tortosa, president of AMEFMUR, stated: “The continuation of this agreement strengthens a strategic collaboration that brings real value to our member companies. Having the support of an Institution such as Banca March, which has a deep understanding of the reality and challenges of family businesses, allows us to continue making progress in key areas such as professionalisation, planning and generational succession. This initiative contributes directly to strengthening the competitiveness of the Murcian business community”.

This renewal strengthens Banca March’s ties with family business owners in Murcia and aligns with its strategic plan to consolidate its position as the leading Institution in Spain in private banking and advisory services for companies, with a unique business model and a unique co-investment product offering that allows the bank’s clients to invest in the same products as its own shareholders.
