The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) allows you to carry out electronic payments in euros among residents of the SEPA area, with only one account number and a single set of financial instruments.
The SEPA area comprises 34 countries: 28 in the EU as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Monaco and San Marino.

There are currently two modalities: SEPA CORE/COR1* (former national direct debit) and SEPA B2B (new type of charge which allows for a reduced return/management period plus the debtor renounces the right to have authorized transactions reimbursed).

The use of SEPA instruments has been enforced since 1st February 2014 in accordance with the established in the (EU) Regulation 260/2012 of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.
