Banca March today announced the launch of CiberSeguro Hijos, in partnership with Telefónica Seguros, a subsidiary of Grupo Telefónica. The product offers legal, psychological and technical coverage to parents whose children are victims of cyberbullying, protecting Banca March customers with 360-degree coverage.

CiberSeguro Hijos provides parents with set of tools to protect their children when they engage in online activities. Customers who take out the insurance will be able to download Qustodio, a user-friendly app to monitor the internet contents their children view. The app can also track a child's whereabouts at all times and alert the parent if they run into problems.

Banca March also covers legal defence expenses up to 18,000 euros for customers who are involved in court proceedings as a result of online bullying, including telephone advice and any out-of-court and judicial procedures, as well as guidance and counselling to help parents reduce the impact that cyberbullying can have on a child and teach them strategies to manage their own reactions.

CiberSeguro Hijos also protects children from the publication of unauthorised documents and images by trawling the internet and informing parents so they can decide on the action to take. Coverage includes the request, and if necessary formal demand, for the digital erasure of information, as well as monitoring of the response time and method to submit any claims.

COMMITMENT TO DIGITAL SECURITY

CiberSeguro Hijos joins CiberSeguro Identidad in Banca March's commitment to ensuring the safety of its customers through the development of innovative products. Customers who take out CiberSeguro Identidad will know when a financial institution or commercial concern enquires about their creditworthiness or submits a credit application on their behalf. Customers will receive SMS and email alerts and will therefore be able to detect potential fraudulent credit applications and act on them as quickly as possible.

Carlos Navarro, Assistant Deputy Managing Director of Banca March, said that "the rapid digitalisation of society implies professional and personal challenges, such as protecting children from the risks involved in using technology. Part of Banca March's commitment to customers entails ensuring the safety of their families through our products. In this regard we could have no better ally than Telefónica, a leading player in the field of technology, with whom we have designed a product that provides our customers with global coverage in terms of keeping their children safe from cyberbullying."
